Art Plante

In Grade 5 Art, students are continuing to work on their robot and some have even finished. They have learned the importance or working in steps, starting with basic shapes and frequently comparing their drawing to their model. Chalk pastels are messy…

In Grade 7 Art, students worked on the value scale using pencil. Once they completed the value scale and sphere, they started sketching their building. One good strategy to see values is to squint and for sketching to press lightly and start with basic shapes.

This week we made pumpkin pie in a mug! The students reported that the recipe turned out great! Next week we will be switching roles within the kitchen, and cooking the same recipe again. This time, students will change, add or alter one or more components of the recipe in order to make improvements.

This week, students were hard at work planning and organizing the Halloween walking tour as well as the Halloween dance. Students are learning how to work with a budget and source out materials in order to put on a large school event.
